Brian L. Johnson held his first sale when he was just 7 years old. By the time he was 10, he was helping at his grandparent's antique shop and became a buyer. Johnson was the youngest participant to have a booth in what is now known as Discovery Antiques on 57th Street in Sacramento. At age 15, he was the youngest exhibitor to be admitted as a dealer into the prestigious Crocker Art Museum Show and Sale. At 19, he opened his first business in Sacramento and began conducting estate sales.
